Summer training is right around the corner, and there’s no better way to ease into the season than with a relaxed, community‑focused run that supports a great cause. The Annville Free Library’s Book It! 5K isn’t your typical “race.” Sure, there’s a start line and a finish line, but the real goal isn’t competition — it’s connection.

This event is the perfect chance for cross country runners to shake off the rust, get some early‑season miles in, and enjoy a soft, friendly course with teammates and friends. The route includes a portion of the Annville‑Cleona Cross Country Course before dropping down to run along the Quittie — a mix of grass, trail, and relaxed summer vibes.

For athletes whose coaches allow it, this is an ideal training session disguised as a community event. Get in a 1–2 mile warm‑up, tempo the 5K, then add a few easy miles afterward to round out the day. No pressure. No expectations. Just a solid workout wrapped in a fun morning with people who love the sport as much as you do.

And the best part? Every step supports the Annville Free Library — a cornerstone of the community that continues to serve families, students, and lifelong learners.

So grab a friend, lace up, and come out for a run that’s more about effort than outcome. More about smiles than splits. More about building momentum for the season ahead.

A great cause. A soft course. A summer morning with friends.

That’s the kind of running we can all get behind.
